Moderated by the Co-chairs from Hungary and Serbia and the lead Party Slovakia, with support of the UNECE secretariat, the Joint Expert Group on Water and Industrial Accidents (JEG) organizes its meeting on 24 April 2024 from 14:00 to 18:30 CET, with the financial support of the German Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
The main objectives of the meeting are to:

Evaluation and follow up of the JEG workshop and meeting in Bratislava on 23 April 2024

Discuss and gather feedback on the background note and status of the consideration to update the Guidelines on the Identification of Hazardous Activities under the (Industrial Accidents) Convention to cover more comprehensively the hazards and risks of tailings management facilities (TMF)

Make an overview of the JEG activities in the biennium 2023 - 2024
