Fifth joint meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management and the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment

The Fifth joint meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management and the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment brought together around 150 participants, including government representatives from over 60 countries.

The Working Groups reviewed progress of the work under the Water Convention, shaped its future programme of work for 2025-2027 and discussed preparations for the 10th session of the Meeting of the Parties (Ljubljana, 23-25 October 2024).

The Working Groups were pleased to welcome the countries that joined the community of the Parties of the Water Convention since the last meeting of the Working Group on IWRM: The Gambia (acceded: 17 July 2023) and Panama (acceded: 6 July 2023) – and to hear numerous countries progressing towards accession to the Convention.
