Capacity-building seminar on the nexus between Sustainable Trade, Water Management, Food Security, Trade Facilitation, and Circular Economy

The objective of this event is to foster the inclusion of the Principles of Sustainable Trade of the United Nations Special Programme fort the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), English and Russian, in the national sustainable development programmes and action plans. The Government of Tajikistan is willing to take steps in that direction, and the meeting will further support the national endeavors. It also aims to strengthen knowledge and capacities of national experts in sustainable trade and circular economy and their link to sustainable development plans.

This event will cover several topics including the international trading system and sustainable trade; instruments for trade and sustainable development in SPECA; business process analysis for sustainable trade; efficient management of food security in the SPECA region; production and trade in agricultural products and sustainable development; and the circular economy.

The target audience includes specialists on trade development and facilitation, sustainable trade, environment, food security, green and circular economy, representatives of authorities related to agricultural production and exports in Tajikistan. The event will be at the beginning of the year when Tajikistan will be chairing the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
